3 more additional IGPs sent into forced retirement

The government has sent three additional inspectors general of police (IGP) into forced retirement.

The police officials are YM Belalur Rahman, additional IGP at the Police Telecom; Selim Md Jahangir, additional IGP at the Police Headquarters and Mallick Faqrul Islam, rector (additional IGP) at Police Staff College Bangladesh.

The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued three separate notifications in this regard on Wednesday.

The move was taken in public interest, said the notifications signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani.

It added that the circulars invoked section 45 of the Public Service Act 2018.
