Draft voter list released, new voter 18 lakh

The Election Commission (EC) has released the draft of a new voter list after necessary updates. The EC led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin released the list on Thursday ( January 2). 

In the presence of the other members of the commission, Election Brig Gen Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah released the list at a press briefing at the EC. 

According to the list, the total number of voters in the country is 12,36,83,512. The number of new voters is 18,33,352, around 1.5 per cent more than before. 

The final voter list will be released on March 2, the EC said.
