Chinmoy Krishna's bail plea rejected

A court has rejected the bail plea of Sammilita Sanatani Jote leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in a sedition case. 

Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Saiful Islam's court heard the arguments on both sides and rejected the bail plea on Thursday morning. 

The court was scheduled to hear the bail plea on December 3. However, the date was pushed back to January 2 as no lawyer was present on behalf of Chinmoy Krishna. Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam's court sent former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari to jail after denying his bail plea on November 26 regarding a case related to the alleged desecration of the national flag at New Market in Chattogram city. 

Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested in Dhaka the day before and brought to court on sedition charges.
