Cold wave sweeping over 10 districts

A mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over ten districts of the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has said. 

In Friday's weather bulleting, the BMD said the cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Jashore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Gopalganj, and Moulavibazar. The cold wave may continue. 

The minimum temperature between 8.1 degrees Celcius and 10 degrees Celcius is regarded as a mild cold wave. On the other hand, the range between 6.1 degrees Celcius and 8 degrees Celcius is regarded as a moderate cold wave. A severe cold wave is between 4.1 degrees Celcius to 6 degrees Celcius, while any lower than that is considered a very severe cold wave. 

However, the temperature may start to rise from Saturday, the Met Office predicted. 

According to the BMD bulletin, mild to moderate fog may cover some places in the country from Friday midnight to Saturday morning.
