Make all-out efforts to check crimes: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam BPM has directed the police personnel to put their utmost efforts to check crimes. 

The direction came at a monthly crime review meeting at Bangladesh Police Auditorium, Rajarbagh in the capital on Monday.

Baharul Alam said, “We have to work with honesty, sincerity and stay on the path of justice. We have to make 100 percent efforts to prevent extortion, robbery and murder.” 

He urged them to perform duties with utmost professionalism and to suppress all sorts of crimes including extortion and drug abuse.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sajjat Ali presided over the meeting. 

A zero tolerance policy should be followed regarding robbers and extortionists, said The DMP Commissioner.

If everybody works jointly, the people's full faith in the police will come back, he added.
