Ex-NBR member Matiur remanded in arms case

A Dhaka court has placed former member of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman on a three-day remand in an arms case filed with the capital's Vatara Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter has passed the order on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, police produced Matiur before the court and pleaded to place him on a 10-day remand in the case.

Today, Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Matiur Rahman and his wife Laila Kaniz from the city's Bashundhara Residential Area.

Matiur came to limelight after buying a high-cost sacrificial goat during the last Eid-ul-Azha.

On December 15, 2024, he was accused in number of cases, including two graft cases, filed by the ACC on charges of amassing wealth illegally.
