Babar released from jail after 17 years

BNP leader and former state minister for home affairs Lutfozzaman Babar was released from Keraniganj Central Jail on Thursday after 17 years.

The High Court on Tuesday (January 14) acquitted Babar and four others in a case filed under the special powers act over the 10-truck arms haul in Chattogram.

The judgement cleared the way to release Babar from jail.
