Former BFIU chief arrested

A former head of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), Masud Biswas, was arrested on Saturday.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with the help of the Police Detective Branch (DB) arrested him from Dhaka's Mirpur-10 area, DB Joint Commissioner Rabiul Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed. 

According to the case documents, Masud Biswas has amassed Tk 1,87,72,622 worth of illegal properties. The ACC filed a case against him in this connection. A probe against him was first disclosed by ACC on September 24, 2024.
