Man stabbed to death in Paltan

A young man was stabbed to death by alleged snatchers at the capital's Paltan-Bijoynagar area early on Tuesday. 

The deceased was identified as Saju Mollah, 22. He is a resident of the Manda area of Mugda in the capital. 

According to Saju's friend Bayzid, Saju works as a driver for a family in Bijoynagar. Early on Tuesday, Bayzid drove Saju to Bijoynagar from his house in Mugda on Bayzid's autorickshaw. Shortly afterwards, Bayzid heard a scream and later found Saju with multiple stab wounds in an alley with the help of police. The incident happened at around 2:45am. 

Saju was brought to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The duty doctor declared the man dead at around dawn. 

Bayzid said it is assumed that Saju was attacked by snatchers. 

Dhaka Medical Police Camp In-Charge Md Faruq confirmed the matter of the death. The body is kept at the hospital morgue.
