BDR jawans walk out of Kashimpur jail

A total of 126 former members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) are being released from Kashimpur High-Security Central Jail in Gazipur on Thursday after serving 15 years in the 2009 BDR carnage case. 

The former BDR members were exiting the jail one by one from 11am. Their relatives were seen flocking to the jail gate. 

Confirming the matter, Kashimpur High-Security Central Jail Superintendent Abdullah Al Mamun said the men are being released after court documents are verified. 

He also said that 26 people are being released from Kashimpur-1, 89 from Kashimpur-2, and 13 from Kashimpur High Security Jail. 

The list of those to be released was revealed on Tuesday.
