DB arrests two with 10,000 free textbooks

The Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested people with 10,000 government textbooks.

The detainees were identified as Sirajul Islam, 55 and M Delwar Hossain, 56, said Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP.

They are members of a syndicate involved in hoarding and illegally selling textbooks intended for free distribution to primary and secondary 

He added that two trucks filled with 10,000 books were also seized during the drive at Banglabazar in the city.

He also said that legal action will be taken against them in this connection.
