Steps underway to set up specialized commercial courts: CJ

Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Refaat Ahmed said major measures are underway to establish specialised commercial court as part of the ongoing judicial reform activities.

He was addressing as the chief guest a regional seminar at DuSai Resort in Moulvibazar district on Saturday.

Bangladesh Supreme Court and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) jointly organized the seminar titled "Judicial Independence and Efficiency in Bangladesh".

The Chief Justice said these (commercial) courts will be helpful in speedy resolution of commercial disputes. The initiative will increase investor confidence and attract more foreign direct investment, he added.
