Dhaka College students give 4-hour ultimatum, make 6 demands

After Sunday night's clash with University of Dhaka (DU) students, Dhaka College students have made six demands and given a 4-hour ultimatum. If the demands are not met within the time frame, they will announce a strict programme. 

Dhaka College students said these at a press conference in front of the Shaheed Minar of Dhaka College on Monday. Eden College student Sumaiya Aktar and Dhaka College student Sajib Uddin spoke at the press conference. 

Their demands are- 

1. DU authority has to take responsibility for the clash on Sunday night, issue an official apology, and DU Pro-VC Mamun Ahmed has to resign

2. Police members involved in attacking Dhaka College students have to be taken to the task

3. DU students who made indecent comments and gestures towards female students of the seven DU-affiliated colleges have to be punished.

4. The establishment of an independent university for the seven colleges separate from Dhaka University.

5. Resolution of the issue through a high-level meeting, with participation from the chief adviser, education adviser, Adviser Nahid Islam, the UGC member, the DU vice-chancellor, and student representatives

6. Reopening of the city corporation roads within the Dhaka University campus
