BSEC ex-chairman Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam held in Dhanmondi

The Detective Branch (DB) of the police has arrested the former chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam from the city's Dhanmondi area.

Following his arrest, Rubayat, also former chairman and dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka, was taken to the DB office at the city's Mintoo Road, a DB officer requesting anonymity confirmed on Tuesday night.

He, however, declined to divulge more to this end. The arrestee will be produced before the court on Wednesday.
