Ex-state minister of CHT Dipankar Talukdar held in city

Former state minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Dipankar Talukder, has been arrested on Monday from the capital's Sobhanbagh area.

Talebur Rahman, DMP deputy commissioner (media), said Detective Branch arrested him around 7:45pm as he was wanted in multiple cases.

The arrestee will be produced before the court on Tuesday.

Dipankar is an Awami League politician and a former MP representing Rangamati.

He is also a member of the AL Central Executive Committee. He also serves as the president of the AL's Rangamati district unit.
