Election schedule depends on July Charter: CA press secy

The schedule of the next national election will be settled by the July Charter, said Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Saturday.

He was talking to reporters in front of the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.

"Our election schedule will depend on the July Charter. Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus has already stated that the election could take place by December."

The first meeting of the National Consensus Commission is being held at the academy.

Political parties will give opinions on the recommendations of six key reform commissions,

Yunus, who also chairs the commission, is presiding over the meeting.
