Kuet shut down till February 28

The Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has decided to shut down its academic activities until February 28 due to unrest. 

The university has also decided to keep student politics banned on campus.

It also took decision that the university will permanently expel and revoke the studentship of any student involved in political activities. 

The decision was made during the 93rd Syndicate meeting, which was held virtually on Wednesday. 

Teachers, officers, and employees are also prohibited from engaging in political activities. 

Violations will face investigation and termination from their positions. 

The university authority will take legal action against outsiders involved in recent incidents of violence and temporarily suspend students directly involved. 

A four-member committee has been formed to conduct a thorough investigation, and the Khulna Divisional Commissioner will oversee security measures on campus. 

The university administration will bear all medical expenses for students injured during the recent incident. 

The authorities have urged students, faculty, and staff to strictly abide by university regulations and maintain a peaceful academic atmosphere. 

Any further violations will lead to strict disciplinary and legal actions, they warned.
