Court freezes 68 bank accounts of ex-MP Henry

A Dhaka court has ordered to freeze 68 bank accounts with Tk20.62 crore of former Sirajganj-2 lawmaker Mst Jannat Ara Henry over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Assistant director Asif Al Mahmud of the ACC submitted the plea before the court. 

The ACC on December 22, 2024, filed two cases against Henry and her husband Shamim Talukder.

Later, Henry was shown arrested in the case on January 6 and was sent to jail.
