Adviser Nahid steps down

The interim government's Adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology Md Nahid Islam has resigned, a source at the Chief Adviser's office said on Tuesday afternoon.

On Sunday (February 23), sources at the Jatiya Nagorik Committee and Anti-discrimination Students Movement confirmed that a new political party headed by young leaders will be unveiled soon and Nahid Islam will resign from the interim government's advisory council on Tuesday. 

It was later announced in a press conference on Monday (24 February) that the new political party will debut at 3 pm on February 28 in front of the National Parliament. Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Committee made the announcement. 

Multiple sources at the policy-making level of the National Citizens Committee said that Nahid Islam may take charge as the convener of the new political party.
