HC orders to complete Magura child rape trial within 180 days

The High Court has ordered to complete the trial regarding the eight-year-old child, who was raped in Magura on March 6, within the next 180 days. The Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal will carry out the order. 

A High Court bench comprising of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury gave the order on Sunday. 

Earlier, Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Mahsib Hossain prayed to the HC to direct the government to take necessary measures to protect the child's health. The bench ordered the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to remove all pictures of the child from social media in a suo moto (voluntary) move.
