Fire at Liberation War Museum under control

A fire broke out at the generator room of the Liberation War Museum in the capital's Agargaon area on Monday morning. It was brought under control swiftly.

The fire originated on the ground floor of the four-storey museum at 9:00 am due to an electric short circuit, media officer Talha bin Zasim of Fire Service and Civil Defence confirmed the matter.

Two firefighting units from Mohammadpur Fire Station rushed to the scene and doused the flame at 9:46am.

The extent of damage caused by the fire was approximately Tk 5 lakh, while the fire service saved properties from the blaze around Tk 50 lakh.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
