Fire breaks out at garage in Dhaka's Rampura

A fire broke out in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw garage next to the TV Centre in Rampura in Dhaka early on Monday. 

Several auto-rickshaws were burnt in the fire, which started at around 5:30 am. 

Fire Service and Civil Defence Central Media Cell Official Anowarul Islam said on information, six units from Khilgaon, Baridhara, Tejgaon, and Siddique Bazar Fire Stations reached the spot. 

The fire was brought under control at around 6:30 am. However, the source of the fire could not be confirmed. 

Locals alleged that the fire spread because the firefighters were late in responding to the crisis. The fire had time to spread to a furniture showroom and a tea stall as well.
