42 injured as bus upturns in Banani

A bus upturned in the Banani area of the capital early on Friday, injuring 42 RMG workers who were on board. The accident disrupted vehicle movement on the road. 

Confirming the matter, Banani Police Station Officer in Charge Russel Sarowar told the Daily Samakal that a bus carrying 42 RMG workers was going to Gazipur at around 5:30am on Friday. The driver lost control of the steering and the bus upturned before the Banani overpass, injuring all the passengers. At first, the injured were rescued and taken to the Kurmitola General Hospital. 

Six critically injured patients were referred to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. They are now out of danger, the duty doctor said. 

The bus was removed from the road within half an hour of the accident and the situation is back to normal, the OC added.
