Thousands celebrate Eid with colourful rally in Dhaka

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) organized an Eid procession in the Bengal Sultanate and Mughal eras tradition, attracting thousands of people from various faiths, age groups, and social backgrounds. 

The parade began at the old trade fair ground in Agargaon and continued along the main road, passing through Khamarbari intersection and ending in front of the South Plaza of the National Parliament building. 

The procession featured traditional musical instruments, decorated horse-drawn carriages, bullock carts, and colorful displays.

A band party played festive tunes, and participants carried placards with Eid greetings and awareness messages. 

At the front of the parade, five beautifully adorned horses were placed, along with 15 horse-drawn carriages. Additionally, 10 puppet shows depicted historical events from the Mughal and Sultanate periods.

A cultural program was held in front of the South Plaza of the Parliament building, featuring artists performing Eid songs and Baul singers entertaining the audience. 

Traditional Eid treats like semai, sweets, and batasha were served during the event.

A key attraction of DNCC's Eid celebrations is a two-day Eid fair at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center premises on Eid day and the following day. 

The fair will feature over 200 stalls showcasing products from various entrepreneurs and businesses, offering entertainment options for children, including a ferris wheel and different sports and games.
