Dismembered body parts found in cartons belong to Sobuj Mollah

Several chopped-up human body parts were recovered from cartons in Keraniganj, and Munshiganj on Friday. The body parts belong to Savar's Sobuj Mollah, police have confirmed. 

At around 10am in Friday, locals noticed dogs fighting over a polybag at the Maloncho area of Dhaka's Keraniganj. Becoming suspicious, they checked and found parts of a human body in it. They called 999, after which police and detectives from Keraniganj Model Police Station reached the spot. Later experts from CID and PBI examined the body parts. 

Later, the head and pieces of the torso were found inside a carton next to the Anwar Chowdhury High School in the Medenimondol Khanbari area of Louhajang Upazila in Munshiganj adjacent to the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. 

Confirming the matter, Munshiganj Addl Police Superintendent (Srinagar Circle) Anisur Rahman said, CID and PBI worked on the dismembered body parts at Dhaka's Keraniganj. After examination, the expert team went to Munshiganj. Initially, they concluded that the parts belonged to the same person. 

Munshiganj DB Police Officer in Charge Abul Kalam Azad said the identity of the deceased was found. His name is Sobuj Mollah. He is the son of Yunus Mollah from Jadurchar village in Savar. Mohsin Miah, the uncle of the deceased, identified the body. 

The OC added that killers chopped up the body to remove the traces. 

The family of the deceased said Sobuj used to work at a private company in Banani. He went missing on Thursday. His family filed a General Diary at Savar Police station in the afternoon. His phone was turned off on Friday. 

After the family learned of the dismembered body parts, they contacted the police and then identified the body.
