ACC files case against Tulip, two others for grabbing flat illegally in Gulshan

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, and two others for grabbing a flat at a project of Eastern Housing Limited in city’s Gulshan area.

Tulip Siddiq is daughter of Sheikh Rehana and niece of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The two other accused of the case are former assistant legal advisers of Rajdhani Unnayan Katripokkha (Rajuk) Shah Md Khasruzzaman and Sardar Mosharaf Hossain.

ACC Director General-(Prevention) Md Akhter Hossain disclosed the information at a media briefing at its headquarters in city’s Segunbagicha area on Tuesday. 

Deputy Director of the anti-graft body Monirul Islam filed the case with its Dhaka Integrated district office, he said.

The ACC brought charges against the accused under sections 120/b, 409/161/162/163/164/165(Ka) and 109 of Bangladesh Penal Code and section 5(2) of the Corruption Prevention Act-1947.

Akhter Hossain told the media that the accused persons in connivance with each other illegally grabbed a flat from the Eastern Housing Limited in Gulshan-2.  They did not pay any money. Rather, they applied conspiracy and criminal misconducts and misuse of power.
