Meghna in court: ‘My relationship with Saudi Ambassador Issa, not with anyone else’

Model Meghna Alam denied allegations of fraud in the court, stating her relationship was solely with Saudi Ambassador to Dhaka Issa bin Youssef Al-Dahilan, whom she married, and refuted claims of aborting his child. 

She appeared in court on Thursday, where the case's investigation officer urged the court to show her arrested. 

After the hearing, the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court shown Meghna Alam arrested for a fraud case filed with Dhanmondi Police Station, accusing her of luring foreign ambassadors with women. 

Her alleged associate Md Dewan Sameer of Sanjana Manpower was also shown arrested and was granted remand. 

The prosecutor claimed that Meghna and Sameer formed a syndicate to extort embassy officials, including ambassadors, with innovative schemes, recently targeting Ambassador Issa for $5 million extortion. 

During the hearing, Meghna Alam corrected her name from "Meghla" to "Meghna." 

In the court, Dewan Sameer denied any relationship with Meghna Alam, calling himself an ordinary remittance worker unaware of the case details. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masum Mia granted Sameer a five-day remand. 

As Alam was escorted to jail from the court, she claimed a sole relationship with "Issa," denied other relations and claimed that she was denied justice.
