Students of Dhaka College, Dhaka City College clash again

Students of Dhaka City College and Dhaka College clashed in the capital's Dhanmondi area around noon on Tuesday. Police later intervened and dispersed them, charging batons and lobbing tear gas shells at around 1pm. 

New Market Police Station Officer in Charge Mohsin Uddin confirmed that traffic is back to normal in the area. 

Eyewitnesses said students of the two colleges engaged in rounds of chase and counter-chase, and lobbed brickbats at each other from 11:45 am. Later, police dispersed them. 

According to police, Dhaka City College students beat up a Dhaka College student on Monday. The incident was spread in several Facebook groups of Dhaka College. To take revenge, Dhaka College students beat up a Dhaka City College student on Tuesday morning, which soon turned into a clash. 

A few students were injured in the clash, OC Mohsin Uddin said.
