Education Adviser Dr CR Abrar urged the students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) to end their hunger strike during a phone call on Tuesday.
Concerned for their health in the hot weather, he warned of potential illness and asked them to consider their physical condition.
Dr Abrar assured the students that the government is aware of their demands and a high-level delegation will visit Khulna soon.
KUET authorities will engage with teachers and students to address the issue, he added.
The students have been on a hunger strike since Monday afternoon, demanding the vice-chancellor's resignation.
