Govt takes decision to form two PSCs: Asif Mahmud

The interim government will establish two separate Public Service Commissions (PSCs), said Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives.

He made the disclosure in a Facebook post on Sunday. 

Following discussions on PSC’s delays and irregularities at the recent Advisory Council meeting, the decision aims to address students' concerns, said Asif, who also oversees the Ministry of Youth and Sports. 

On Saturday last, job-seeking students protested in Dhaka’s Shahbagh area, demanding PSC reforms with a seven-point charter and blocking the Shahbagh intersection. 

Asif said that while a planned meeting with protestors last Monday did not occur, their demands have been communicated to the concern authorities.
