Mild to moderate heat wave sweeps over parts of country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said that a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over different parts of the country.

"Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the districts of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rajarhat, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali, Chattogram, Bandarban, Barishal and Patuakhali and it may continue," said a BMD bulletin issued Friday. 

The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, according to the release.

Day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celcius and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

The highest temperature recorded on Thursday was 39.7 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga in Khulna division. The lowest temperature recorded Friday was 22.5 degrees Celsius at Dimla in Rangpur division.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:31pm on Friday and rise at 5:19am on Saturday.
