YouTube channels of 6 TV channels blocked in India

YouTube has, so far, stopped broadcasting six Bangladeshi television channels in India. 

The YouTube channels of these Bangladeshi channels cannot be viewed from India.

This information was disclosed by the fact-checking organisation DismisLab in a report on Saturday.

On Friday, DismisLab said that YouTube had stopped broadcasting the YouTube channels of Jamuna TV, Ekattor TV, Banglavision and Mohana TV from India.

On Saturday, DismisLab said in its updated report that the broadcast of two more Bangladeshi television channels - Somoy TV and DBC News' YouTube channels - has also been stopped from India. All these six channels are YouTube verified (approved). Their total subscribers are more than 54.2 million.

Meanwhile, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said that the Bangladesh government will seek an explanation from YouTube in this regard. If a clear explanation is not received, countermeasures will be taken.
