Rain, thundershowers likely in parts of country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country on Wednesday.

"Rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with hail at isolated places," said a BMD bulletin.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

A mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Rajshahi, Natore, Pabna, Sirajganj, Dhaka, Tangail, Narayanganj, Manikganj, Rajbari, Faridpur, Gopalganj, and Patuakhali and it may continue.

The country's highest temperature recorded on Tuesday was 38.7 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga in the Khulna division and the lowest temperature recorded on Wednesday was 21.6 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

The sun sets on Wednesday at 6:33pm and rises at 5:17am on Thursday in the capital.
