Nursing students blockade Shahbagh intersection

The nursing students, who are staging protest for turning their diploma degree into general degree, have blockaded roads in Shahbagh intersection on Wednesday afternoon to fulfill their demand.

Consequently, a huge traffic gridlock has been created on the roads of Shahbagh, Matsya Bhaban, Kakrail, Karwar Bazar, Farmgate, falling commuters into immense sufferings.

Earlier in the day, the protesting students gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar. Around 1:30 pm, they marched towards Shahbagh with a procession. 

When the police tried to stop them in front of Shahbagh police station, the protesters removed the barricades and went to Shahbagh intersection and took position.

Confirming the blockade in Shahbagh intersection, Shahbagh police station officer-in-charge (OC) Khalid Mansur said that the police are trying to remove them through peaceful discussions.
