Home adviser for paying Eid bonus of RMG workers within May, salary by June 3

Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury urged the garment owners to pay Eid bonuses for workers in May and salaries between June 1 and 3. 

He made these remarks following a meeting of law and order committee held on Monday in preparation for Eid-ul-Azha.

The adviser said, "Bonuses for garment workers must be disbursed within May, and salaries must be paid from June 1 to 3.” 

Reasonable demands from workers must be met. 

He, however, sounded a note of warning that if roads are blocked due to unreasonable demands, law enforcement will take appropriate action.

He further stated that no buses, trains, or boats will be permitted to carry excess passengers during the Eid period.

The same restriction is applicable for the transportation of animals, he added.

The advisor urged, "While people may have various demands, we encourage all ministries to address reasonable ones. However, unreasonable demands should not be made, and protests should be confined to workplace premises to avoid disrupting the public by blocking roads."
