Advance train ticket sales for Eid-ul-Azha begins

Bangladesh Railway on Sunday has started selling advance train tickets ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha. On Sunday, the tickets for 4 June are being sold. However, tickets are not available at the stations. 100 per cent of the tickets are being sold online. 

Ticket sales for the Western region began at 8am while the Eastern region will start at 2pm.

Ten special trains will operate across five routes and those will run from June 4 to 6 and again from June 9 to 14, with some trains running even on Eid day. Tickets for special trains will only be available at station counters and not online.

A total of 43 intercity trains will operate across the country during Eid, offering around 33,315 seats. Besides, 25 per cent of each train’s capacity will be allocated for standing tickets, which will also be sold at station counters.

According to the Railway’s Eid schedule, tickets for May 31 went on sale on May 21, followed by June 2 tickets on May 23, and June 3 tickets on May 24. Tickets for June 5 and 6 will go on sale on May 26 and 27, respectively.

Each passenger will be able to take up to four seats in a single transaction. Tickets bought in advance are non-refundable.
