Per capita income raises to $2,820

In the current fiscal year (FY25), Bangladesh's per capita income rose to $2,820, up from $2,738 in the previous fiscal year (FY24), marking an increase of $82.

According to provisional data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), the per capita income in FY25 reached Tk3,39,211, based on an exchange rate of Tk120.29 per US dollar.

The BBS data also indicates that the country's GDP at current prices grew to Tk55,52,753 crore ($462 billion) in FY25, compared to Tk50,02,654 crore ($450 billion) in FY24. The economy expanded by 3.97 percent in FY25, slightly lower than the 4.22 percent growth recorded in FY24.

Additionally, the investment-to-GDP ratio in FY25 stood at 29.38 percent, while domestic savings and national savings ratios reached 23.25 percent and 29.01 percent, respectively.
