Jamaat leader Azharul Islam released from prison

Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam, who was sentenced to various terms of imprisonment, including death, in a case of crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War, has been released from jail.

He was released from Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj at 9:05 am on Wednesday while he was admitted to Bangladesh Medical University.

Deputy Inspector General of Prisons (DIG Prisons) of Dhaka Division Md. Jahangir Kabir confirmed his release from jail to The Daily Samakal.
