Secretariat employees announce new programme

Secretariat employees have announced a new programme instead of a one-hour strike on Sunday and Monday demanding the repeal of the Government Services (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.

According to the new programme, they will submit a memorandum to the three advisers of the interim government, Ali Imam Majumder, Fawzul Kabir Khan and Syeda Rizwana Hasan, on Sunday.

The next day, Monday, they will submit a memorandum to two advisers, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan and Mahfuz Alam. 

In addition, memorandums will also be submitted through the heads of organisations and institutions at the field level.

After the strike on Thursday, Secretariat Officers-employees Co-Chairman Badiul Kabir, Nurul Islam and Co-Secretary General Nazrul Islam presented the new programme to journalists at the Secretariat Central Library located in the Ministry of Public Administration.

Before the announcement of the programme, employees of various ministries and departments of the Secretariat observed a one-hour work stoppage from 10 am.

After the work stoppage, the leaders of the unity forum said that the one-hour work stoppage will not be observed next Sunday and Monday. Instead, a memorandum will be given to the three advisers of the interim government, Ali Imam Majumder, Fawzul Kabir Khan and Syeda Rizwana Hasan, on Sunday. And on Monday, the memorandum will be given to two advisers, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan and Mahfuz Alam.

The memorandum will also be given through the heads of organisations and institutions at the field level.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is currently on a tour of Japan. The leaders of the unity forum are hoping that 'good news' can be received after the Chief Adviser returns to the country. 

They hope that they will be able to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with 'good news'.
