Highlights of budget for FY2025-26

The highlights of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2025-26 are as follows:

Total size of the proposed budget is Tk7.90 lakh crore. 

Revenue target is Tk 5.64 lakh crore.

Out of the total estimated revenue income of Tk5,64,000 crore, Tk4,99,000 crore is expected to be collected through the NBR, while the remaining Tk65,000 crore from other sources. 

Annual Development Programme (ADP) is Tk2.30 lakh crore.

Out of the total ADP outlay for the FY26, Tk1,44,000 crore will come from the government of Bangladesh portion while the rest of Tk 86,000 crore as project loan and grant.

Budget deficit is Tk2.26 lakh crore. 

Out of the total deficit in the proposed budget, Tk1,25,000 crore are proposed to be financed from domestic sources and Tk1,01,000 crore from foreign sources.

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed on Monday presented the proposed national budget for FY26 through a pre-recorded speech aired through Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar.
