Roadmap to address session jam, lengthiness in BCS tests

The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has unveiled a new roadmap to streamline the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination process and address session jams, according to a PID handout.

The BPSC plans to complete three BCS exams—the 44th, 45th, and 48th—within this year. The final results for the 44th BCS are set for June 30, the 45th BCS on December 10, and the 48th BCS (special) on September 22.

The written test results for the 45th BCS will be announced on June 19, with viva dates to follow.

To prevent scheduling conflicts, candidates qualifying for the 45th BCS viva will appear before the viva board at least one month after the 46th written test or the 47th preliminary test, ensuring no overlap and safeguarding opportunities.

Prioritizsing the 48th BCS (special) due to a shortage of doctors in government hospitals, the BPSC has scheduled its MCQ test for July 21, with final results on September 22.

The 47th BCS preliminary test is set for September 19, followed by the written test on November 27.

For regular BCS exams, the BPSC will conduct preliminary tests two months after issuing the BCS gazette notification, with written tests two months thereafter.

The handout noted that slight timeline adjustments may occur if unavoidable circumstances arise.
