Dhaka metro rail services resume, carrying meat not allowed

Metro rail services in Dhaka resumed on Sunday after being suspended on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha on Saturday. 

Services resumed at 8am with 30 minutes of headway. From Monday (9 June), the metro rail will run according to the holiday schedule. 

According to a Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) release, carrying the hide, raw meat, or cooked meat of sacrificial animals on the metro rail is prohibited. Passengers will be searched at every gate to ensure they do not carry such items. 

The release added that if any passenger is found carrying such items, they would not be allowed inside the metro station.
