Ex-state minister for planning Shamsul Alam held in Dhaka

The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested former State Minister for the Planning Ministry, Dr. Shamsul Alam, from the capital's Mohammadpur area early on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter. Shamsul Alam is now in DB custody, he said. The former state minister was accused in multiple cases.
