Court attaches plots, freezes accounts of Shamim Osman

A court has ordered to attach two plots, one in Purbachal and another in Uttara, and to freeze 29 bank accounts of ex-lawmaker from Narayanganj-4 constituency Shamim Osman.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Sunday, allowing a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

In its plea, the anti-graft body said the former lawmaker is planning to withdraw money from the bank accounts, transfer the funds, and sell the properties while in hiding. 

"For the sake of proper investigation of the allegations against him, the plots should be attached and the accounts should be frozen immediately," the plea read.
