5 die from COVID-19 in 24 hrs

The  Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported five deaths and 36 new COVID-19 cases in the country between 8 am Saturday and 8 am Sunday.

According to the DGHS, “Five additional COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities from the virus to 16 since January.”

Over this period, 621 samples were tested, resulting in a positivity rate of 5.80 percent.

The total death toll since the pandemic's onset in 2020 is 29,515.

The first COVID-19 case in the country was identified on March 8, 2020, with the first death reported ten days later on March 18, 2020.
