Salehuddin to sit with NBR officials on Thursday over ordinance issue

Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed has invited the representatives of the BCS (tax) and BCS (customs and excise) cadres to sit with him on Thursday at 5:00 pm to discuss on the already promulgated ordinance on the NBR.

A Finance Ministry press release on Wednesday said that through such discussions, it would be possible to bring necessary changes into the promulgated ordinance by July 31, 2025.

All the misunderstandings on the ordinance might be solved through consensus, it said.

Salehuddin Ahmed urged all the officials and employees of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to concentrate on revenue collection.

Earlier on May 12, The Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance 2025 were promulgated.

Before that, the Council of Advisers in its meeting on January 16, 2025, decided to split the revenue board in two separate divisions based on the submitted report by the Advisory Committee on NBR reforms.
