Subrata Bain put on 7 days remand

A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted seven days police remand to top terror Subrata Bain alias Fate Ali for his alleged involvement in Juba Dal leader Arif Shikder murder case.

Inspector Mohammad Mazaharul Islam of the Detective Branch (DB) of police produced Subrata Bain before the court of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM), seeking 10-day police remand.

Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Md Abdul Wahab, on behalf of the CMM, granted his seven-day remand rejecting his bail petition.

The case statement reads that Juba Dal leader Md Arif Shikder was shot at by a gang of miscreants near ‘the Jheel Café at Nayatola area under Hatirjheel Thana on April 19 last. 

He was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries on April 21. 

Arif was the assistant sports secretary of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal ward number- 36 of Dhaka City unit.

Rima Akhter, sister of Arif, on April 22 filed a murder case against 10 people including Mahfuzur Rahman Bipu, a close associate of Subrata Bain with Hatirjheel Thana. The Tejgaon division of the DB has been investigating the case. 

The other accused of the case are-Md Yasin,19, Md Asif Hossain,21, Md Anik,19, Md Miraz,19, Md Ashik,19, Md Ifty,24, Zafar Imam Tarafdar Montu,40, Raton Sheikh,45 and Alif,19.

The joint forces recently arrested country’s one of the top terrors Subrta Bain and his close associate Molla Masud from Kushtia district.
