Banks to remain closed on 5 August

All scheduled banks across the country will remain closed on August 5, marking the observance of the government-declared holiday marking "July Uprising Day," said a Bangladesh Bank circular.

To this end, the central bank issued a circular through its Department of Off-site Supervision on Thursday.

Bangladesh Bank instructed all scheduled banks to suspend operations on that day in compliance with the holiday announced by the government.
