We are in difficult situation: Nahid

National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said they are in difficult situation.

"We are in a kind of difficulty. You have seen what happened to us in Gopalganj. There are obstacles in different places," said Nahid while meeting the family members of the July martyrs in the New Market area of Chattogram city on Sunday morning. 

Addressing the members of the martyrs' family, Nahid Islam said, "We did not come to you as party men. We were in the uprising movement. Your family members were with us, from that point on we consider ourselves a family above party opinion.”

Stating that there are still friends of tyranny at various levels of the administration, the NCP convener said, "When I was in the government or those who went to the government on our behalf, we tried to take various initiatives regarding the family of the July martyrs. But it has been seen that the government's initiatives have not reached the field level or have been delayed because there are still friends of tyranny at various levels of the administration.”

“The martyr's family was not given the respect they were supposed to receive,” he added.

Also present during the meeting with the martyr's family were NCP's northern chief organiser Sarjis Alam, joint member secretary Tasneem Zara, and Chattogram coordinator Zobairul Arif.
