Aircraft crash in Uttara: National Consensus Commission suspends talks

The National Consensus Commission has expressed profound grief over the tragic crash of an Air Force training aircraft in Uttara’s Diyabari area, Dhaka. 

Due to this tragedy, the commission has suspended the 16th day of its ongoing second round of discussions at the Foreign Service Academy for Monday.

In a statement, the commission extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. 

Professor Ali Riaz, Vice-Chairman of the commission, said, “We pray for the eternal peace of the departed souls and stand in solidarity with the grieving families.” 

He also offered condolences to the families of the injured and called on authorities to ensure proper medical care for them.

The commission urged all political parties and citizens to support the victims in a spirit of national unity and compassion. 

A minute of silence was observed during the commission’s meeting to honor the deceased, with participants offering prayers according to their respective faiths.

Given the gravity of the incident, the second round of discussions with political parties has been paused. The commission announced that the talks will resume on Tuesday morning.
